Wow It's been a while!

Man, It's been so long since I've written on this thing, I thought I'd have to start all over! All I did was hop over to blogspot.com and all my stuff just popped up there automatically! Well, I am a new creation in Christ. As such, I deleted all my old posts. I didn't even look at them. If it was important, I'm sure it'll come back to me.

If you've never read anything I've posted here before, GOOD! Hopefully this is a fresh, new direction and a fresh, new life.

On that note, I wanted to share an experience I just had. I touched on it on Facebook a little, but I really had a bit more to say on the matter than those character limits would allow.

I replied to a comment I saw on a feed about Good Friday. The commenter was getting really upset and starting to head toward being nasty to some unbelieving people that were getting outright nasty with her in her replies. Well, my flesh loves drama. The devil had some good 'ol tidbits there for me to put my two cents in. I surprised myself a little, because I actually gave her some half-decent sense, basically telling her that she needs to remember as a Christian that some people have never been given the Gospel. Some have, and they just aren't ready to receive it. That's ok. It's not our job to convert them--that's for the Lord. It's our job to pray for them that Christ keeps knocking on their heart and they open the door.

Someone directly said to me "Laura, a lot of bullcrap." That hiked my hackles... I typed out one heck of a response. It was salty. It was sarcastic. It was quick-witted.
It was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!! A real zinger! I backspaced all of it... An alarm went off. Not in my mind, but in my soul...

"Does this mess glorify Christ?" Well, no. Not really. "Will you be speaking Truth into someone's life that could lead them closer to Christ?" No. Not at all. "Will responding to a person THAT YOU DON'T KNOW with anger and cutting sarcasm just in the name of 'proving your point' get your point any further across, even?" No. "Will this glorify God or glorify Laura?" Well, initially Laura, but then after a while, when the rage subsides, I'll feel guilty and kick myself for having lost my temper, so I guess: neither.😡

I have a new filter that I would like to send my actions and feelings, my words and walk through. "Does this action, these words, this purchase, this response, this....whatever....glorify God?" If my answer is 'No' or even a good 'might could', I need to walk away from it. Stop. Do not pass GO, Do not collect $200.00! We are here for a reason. We are here for our words, our actions, EVERYTHING to glorify Him. Live saved, my friends. If you aren't and you have a question about anything at all, I'm happy to try and help. If I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does. God bless you.
